Christmas crop sneak peeks

It's almost time for the Indigo Mill Christmas Crop on 13th December from 10am - 6pm at Mickleover Community Centre.

We're having a completely christmassy theme, class and feel, not a scrapbook page in sight (well, I'm sure I will be doing a couple, but thought we could all do with some xmas cheer before that!)

So here's a sneaky peek of what we'll be doing in the class....

To book your place, please email bookings@indigomill.co.uk

Choc orange cupcakes

Yep - more cupcakes...

Chocolate orange cupcakes with orange buttercream. And obligatory green bling of course (edible)

Finally finished my mini book! Woohoo!

I started work on this mini book a couple of weeks into September. Two of our best and oldest friends got married at the end of August back in Norfolk, and although I did a framed page for them as a wedding present, I wanted to give them something to remember the actual day, so thought I would make a mini-book for them with photos I took myself on the day

Could have used a pre-bought mini-book, but thought I'd make it myself and *finally* use my bind it all (which I've had since May and not used yet) now they must be special for that.

I have a total obsession for all things acetate, so thought I'd mix acetate and normal pages, and found some 7 gypsies 8x8 board book covers which I thought were a totally reasonable price, and so used those covers and made the rest of the album.

Bit hacked off when it came to binding it and found that the covers wouldn't go in the bind it all slot!!!!! That will teach me to check things out. So I had to improvise, and used the big bite to punch holes in all the covers / pages and then tied it with velvet ribbon. And here we are....

Front of the album:

One of the inner / acetate pages

Final page

I also bound in the invite / menu / order of service / table name thought it would be quite nice to have a record of that in years to come!

I think Hannah was happy with it, she said it made her cry, so I can only assume that that is a good thing!  It was difficult knowing how to journal it, whether to do it as an outsider, from their perspective, from my own.  In the end I just wrote it 'to them'

Roll on the next one.... which will fit in the BIA!

Have you ever....

.... had that feeling of...

I don't want to be here, but I don't actually know where I want to be, and you want to ring someone to talk to, visit, but you don't know who to go to, and you don't want to ring anyone, because you don't want to whinge, but inside you're screaming out for company / a friend / help / conversation???

..... Yeah... me too :(

Published

Not my work unfortunately, but my crafty ramblings, over on Craft Journal

I'm still here

Honestly, how time flies!!  The retreat is almost a month behind me now, but such great fun, I miss all the ladies (old and new friends) and can't wait for the next ones.

I've had time to do some crafting, but not as much as I like.  When I was putting together last weekends class for my crop, I managed to make this little lady out of paper products.  her wings are made from coffee filters which I used watered down acrylic to decorate, then scraps of paper ribbon, a brad and some sewing thread for hair.  She's not perfect, but she's my guardian angel. (Although the first attempt at her face looked uncannily like a blow up doll!)

Lots going on at the moment, but far too boring to post on here.  Hopefully I'll get some christmas cards made soon to show.

I am a crafter....honest!! lol  Wish I could apply to someone for 50 hour days...

Back soon xx

Is it really that long????

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's been so long since I posted.... I always swear about people who don't update their blogs and now look....

Mind you, here's why....

It took what feels like forever, but my stock and business stash is all sorted and beautiful.... lets just not talk about the rest of the house and my personal stash!!! lol

Won't be about much as I've got to get ready for the Indigo Mill retreat - less than 2 weeks to go!!!!!!

Not exactly a child friendly cake....

... this is my son's birthday cake for his 3rd birthday tomorrow. Once he's had a slice, I'm handing him over to visiting relatives and running off so they can deal with the sugar effects... lol

Dabblers night

Went to Dabblers last night - feels like I haven't been for ages, always something coming up when I plan on going, but we had a really good night, although we did miss the fabulous Tracey!! (Hope you're having a fantastic holiday!)

I got my CJ finished, it's a week late already (sorry CB girls) and started on a page I have had in my mind for aaaaages. Needed mums Cricut to sort it, and so I played with it all last night.

I do love to watch the girls make cards. They are so beautiful and take such care and attention with each one, it's wonderful to watch. They are so very different to my style of cardmaking, which kind of synch's with my scrapping, bright, bold, colourful etc.

Couple of the scrappy girls were there, and are looking forward to colour theory on Scrapbook night on the 19th. Me too! I think I'll have to choose some really shocking combos for them to try... :)

Hope you all have a crafty weekend, I'm going to get my page finished, and get some new kits put together for Indigo Mill.

Two weddings.....

... and two beautiful brides.

Hannah here

& Jayney here

I had such a fabulous time, and I really really miss my friends in Norwich. It's made me realise how easy it is to just let time go flying by, it's a year since we've moved and seen most of our friends, and that's just too damn long!!

I'm going to make sure we make time to go across and see people as often as we can.

Hannah and Jayne, you both looked so beautiful, and I hope you both had fantastic days. Congratulations!! xxxxxx
